Full-time Répétiteur
Cape Ballet Africa is inviting applications for the full-time position of Répétiteur, based in Cape Town.
Applications close midnight 30 June 2026.
We are looking for an experienced classical ballet professional with a minimum of five years’ broad experience in traditional classical ballet repertoire. The successful candidate will support the Artistic Director and ballet team in maintaining the company’s artistic excellence, professional standards, and high-quality productions.
This role combines artistic support, rehearsal coaching, dancer development, repertoire preservation, and operational coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading daily rehearsals and supporting artistic operations
- Coaching, supporting, and developing company dancers
- Staging and rehearsing classical productions to a high professional standard
- Preserving and maintaining classical repertoire
- Collaborating with artistic, production, and theatre teams
- Supporting strategic planning and scheduling
- Upholding health and safety standard
- Assisting during performance periods, where time flexibility is required
Requirements:
- Strong experience with classical ballet repertoire
- Experience teaching and coaching professional dancers
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Experience working in diverse theatre environments
- Scheduling management ability
- Fluent English
- South African applicants only
